Me.

As I write this my dad is on the phone talking about me to a strange man who is the father of another strange man who is, apparently, an engineer, has done his BTech from so and so university and MTech from some other place and is working in dubai as well, and is, of course, is of marriageable age.

I'm listening to my dad put all of my life in 5 minutes of conversation... she's an engineer(that part comes first of course) ... she's 5 feet 3 inches.... she's been in dubai all her life... she's working in so-and-so place... and we need to check if the horoscopes match... yes...

so then... this is it. that's my life as my dad knows it.

"So Sonia, we'll go meet this guy tonight ok"

"Ok dad."

whatever!

toothless wonder: thanks! it went well. i HATED the guy and i said no.

Zypsy: i'm not against them, cos it works well for a lot of people... but it doesn't work for me. the guy was pathetic! i can't believe i had to have coffee with such a guy even. anyway, i won't have to anymore. so that's that.

Funny how things can get reduced to the basics!!!!

Anyway, how did it go?

Ha ha Sonia.Well.....when its ripe time for marriage.....well all these tend to happen...yeah i too sometimes feel should have fallen in luv then this situation of meeting and liking all could have been avoided....well its a rats race.some times.....well yes its some times to know strangers who are nice....well all are a strangers once we make an entry to this world.....

AB: it was the worst yet!

Jij: dude, there isn't a "ripe time" for marriage. and i'd prefer some people remain strangers.

My mom just says:

"He is an engineer...and his company has given him a laptop to work at home."

Thats the whole of me according to her...thats why I had to hand ova ma profile to her...just in case :P

Good luck ;)

A bit of a drastic step to take but if you don't want anyone to take any decisions about your life, tell them they don't have the right to do so...even your parents.

i don't think that is the life that ur dad knows.
Or maybe u want to tell urself that!

Is the owner of the blog still around?

Sonia said...

arz00n: :) good luck to you.

ghostoftomjoad: how many times do you think i'll have to tell them before it finally sinks in?

tejbir: my dad doesn't know me at all. neither does my mum. and they both think i'm much worse than i really am. which isn't the best thing.

ghostoftomjoad: and THIS coming from a guy who's not been blogging for THREE months!
tsk tsk!
