I'd really like a Rav4 , but everyone keeps telling me to choose a small car since this is my first time driving in Dubai( or anywhere, for that matter), So when I choose a VW Beetle, why do they still have problems? So what if there is no resale value? I'm looking the prices now, and they seem steep enuff. And who says I wanna sell it anyway?
And marriage! Why do they keep asking me what kind of guy I want? I DON'T KNOW DAMMIT!! I'm so bloody confused about a car, how the heck can I decide whom I should be spending the rest of my life with?!
"Time is running out" they say, and that scares me.
"You'll end up alone and lonely." I am already, and I hate it.
I don't know what my choices are anymore. Don't know if I ever had any. maybe it's like Mulder once said, "You realise the choices you had in life were already made"
I'm freaking out!

Choose the car first..... thats easy.... ;) ;)
Oops... I hadn't read the post properly... I thot u had a problem choosing a car... now when I went thro it again.....
Well.... threaten them that u'll quit....
Arun R: threaten whom??? my parents? I think u had read it better the first time round!
Does that REALLY bother you? Being alone and lonely? Sined, Curious.
Jes decide which car to buy and then find ANY man who can get that...your worries are solved lady...ZIMPLE!!
choices were already made... he he .. good line..
Iam all for beetle. Anyway, between cars and spouses, no contest!!! choose your car and go for the man who gels with that image... The former's where u make an impassonate decision, the one the real u wants.
ok choose the car first cos thats easier than choosing a life-partner...:) Personally I wud go for the VW Beetle...I simply luv it n the colors they come in! But damnit I already have a car...duhh! :):)
Abt being lonely...well my mum is basically angry with me that Im choosing to stay single for a little longer...she has tried so many times to fix me up with someone but Im just too comfy being 'lonely' right now...as for the time running out, well theres nothing u can do abt that...time keeps ticking even after u get married...then u'll worry abt kids n that the biological clock is ticking etc etc...so I wudnt really be worried abt time...nor being lonely...it's really wut u choose as important that matters...some want an early marriage, some want a lil bit of freedom for a lil longer...so yeah it's really upto u..now Sonia when u get to meet the guys, take ur time in deciding who wud be the one...it's not as easy as choosing a car.
Good luck gal!
Keshi.
Choose the car, choose the boy, choose to live, choose to die .... blah!
Choose not to choose <-- Now that is a new one! :D Just don't bother with choices - you'll make one eventually and that's the one you shudn't have made, and then you'll want to make another and so on... it is pointless :o|
Okay - I'm being totally nonsensical about this and we are not talking about being alone and lonely! So basically ignore this comment.
Hi,
Well, u can only go and tell ur employer that u'll quit (the job... obviously!!!)
u cannot go and tell ur parents that u'll quit(quit what???).....
heck, you're getting to chose a beetle, girl- go for it! I love car. that and the Cooper mini (or is it the mini cooper).
As for the other choice, its not yours to make right now, is it? (if you dont want to get fixed up)and neither is it already made for you. But it will be , one day. and you will be much the gladder for the wait
(look at me , sounding like a grandpop)
talking of choices, you gotta check this outif you havent seen it sometime in life already
kahini: yes it does, i'm not happy alone. i need to share and want that exclusive someone.
zombie: too late! grin, i'll explain in the next post!
the arbit council: it is na? but kinda freaks me otu to think of it.
rahul: u think? the rav4 is my fist choice. but let's see!
keshi: i know! car is easycompared to guy. but the thing is, its not just me who is choosing, unfortunately, my parents have a say in things (for both car AND guy), so its more difficult.
FR: choose not to choose? then my parents will choose for me! they'll probably get me a dumb camry or corolla and an even more boring guy!NO WAY!
arun r: now why are u talking about me job??
manoj: totally NOT a golf person. more VW, but even more Rav4 kinda gal.
vague: i get to choose? hah!
choose the car!!!
abt marriage always remember that the grass is always grrener on the other side.
BTW, how was ur weekend?
:-)
kj: weekend was GREAT!! will give details on monday when everyone is back! :o)
Dont u hav any friends there ???
Beetle is more classier than the Rav, but the seat height on the rav is something youll be happy about..
but about marriage and men.. no comments!!
avik: nope! :o( left all of them in India. old classmates have drfited apart. we are so different now.
lazydad: yeah, and the space, and the power, and everything!
but note: bottom line - its still a toyota if names/brands/make are something u look at!
lazydad: i like the toyota. its reliable. japanese. good and sturdy!
I notice that here in NJ. Cars reflect the personality so very well. Toyotas and Hondas often have conservative, laid back, soccer moms (most Indians too) at the wheel. U go wild with porche convertibles and dodge speeders. do u match the toyota bill ???
having faced both your problems, I can help you solve half of it... go for the Rav4.. I have a Rav4.. go for the Rav4 sports.. its quite good.. comes loaded with all goodies like cd player, power windows, mirrors etc.. its got sexy mileage too...
ditch the beetle... the only reason I l ike it is because it is Hitlers contribution to the world.... but it has no resale value... the ground clerance is dismal and parts are blooooody expensive...
and regarding marriage... this is my take... my parents are on my case too... I have told them that the kind of girl I want is impossible to find... so I have told them to find a girl with a Mercedes S class..hell if I can't have the kind of girl I want.. I might as well have the kind of car I want ;-) muhahahhahaahah (evil laugh)
rahul: after all i've done, do i sound like a soccer mom to u?!
but i still like rav4 better! on the roads, it has more power than a beetle!
injinuity: hmm, i think i'm gonna say thesame thing to my folks! ;o)
well you can 'choose' the car, but a guy isnt something you can choose right? unless you're gonna be doing a swayamvar . the guy usually just happens.
nish: lol! swayamvar! definitely not! but u do choose in the end right? u choose to to ahead with somebody, hai na?
Well!!! Soccer moms grew up as free young women too. Do you intend to go terrain taming with it? Offroad, i admit the beetle's no match. Btw, in these fuel-scarce days, aint efficiency a concern at all?
Smile, your in the land of broken dreams. :)
good that u allow ur parents to have a say in both...the way to go...they brought u up n they should have a say in imp decisions in ur life.
It's harder that way too...cos u got to make everyone happy...well I say go with the flow...take it easy n think smart...big decisions should be thought over time and with care...good luck!
Keshi.
*HUGS* and more tite *HUGS* relax!!! and lets take one thing at a time:)
rahul: when was i ever free?
100hands: It's not welcome, it's welcome back. u see, i've been here all my life!
joker: thank you!
keshi: i didn't 'allow'. But i guess i did choose that path when i came back to Dubai. When i was in delhi, i was independent, and could have made my own choice. But they kept calling me back, and i was so tired, tired of the struggle to live, that I wanted to rest, just for a while. But now i'm stuck i guess.
heyyy Sonia why d u think of it as being 'stuck'? dun u like the 'choices' u made? Im asking this because u said u didnt 'allow' ur parents to decide as well but u 'chose' that path...so if YOU chose that pasth, u shouldnt feel 'stuck' na?
Keshi.
Well I hope u'll reap good things out of the path u chose...just take one day at a time girl, huggggz!
Keshi.
keshi: i'm stuck cos i've lost my freedom. i'm not living for me anymore.
thats not right...parents shouldnt make their kids feel as if they lost their freedom?
mebbe it's not right, but that's what's happening. and not just to me.
